Some say millennials are born between the 1980s and the late 1990s, whilst others argue that millennials are born between the late 1990s to early 2000s. However the majority can agree that millennials are very dependant on technology. Millennials are able to sit all day whilst staring at a screen!
In a research millennials are those born into the age of technology. This generation's digital tendencies means that marketers and brands needs to step up their game in order to engage with this generation.
It is said that millennials use links on social media to be alerted of a show and to watch part of the show through a small edited clip. Facebook is very popular to show small documented shows that are watched and therefore if I were to produce a documentary it would hit the target audience more.

With this fact that I know now, I have realised that this is not as much as other age groups. This is because 34% of millennials watch more online videos than tv.
What appeals to millennials?
Being a millennial surrounded by many millennial friends, the noticeable pattern that I notice is that millennials do like to watch factual shows that is 'hot-in-topic' and closely related to their generation.
- Millennials do not like to be taken controlled
- Millennials higher use of drugs and the consumption of alcohol
- Millennials like to learn rather than being examined
- Millennials like to watch others experiences before doing it themselves
- Millennials enjoy life rather than work
